CJ hearing on Tuesday
KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has scheduled the hearing of Anup Raj Sharma, recommended for the post of Chief Justice, on Tuesday. KB Gurung, chairman of the hearing committee, said the committee would conduct hearing on Tuesday morning. Constitutional Council had recommended him for the post on November 30. Sharma will take responsibility, after CJ Min Bahadur Rayamajhi retires on December 12. Meanwhile, Gurung said that three complaints have been lodged against Sharma.
‘Move bad precedent’
KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Monday said the issue of civilian supremacy should be addressed to institutionalise democracy. Addressing a function here, he termed the President's move an attempt to stall the nation. "The President's action has set a wrong precedent in the republic by curtailing civilian supremacy in its first year," he said.
