CDPS gets British Council aid

KATHMANDU: In a bid to strengthen health research in the country, the British Council today announced a grant of Rs 10 million to Tribhuvan University Central Department of Population Studies.

TU, the University of Aberdeen, Bournemoth University (both UK) and the Development

Resource Centre have initiated a project ‘Partnership in improving

Access to Research Literature for Higher Education Institution(PARI) in Nepal’ funded by British Council and DFID. Ram Sharan Pathak of CDPS said that

PARI would help to design new curricula with greater emphasis on research information.

Professor Dr Madhav Prasad Sharma, vice-chancellor TU said that the fund would be helpful in capacity building of teacher and students. He further said that enhanced research was very much essential at the moment.
