Chinese delegation departs for home

KATHMANDU: The five-member Chinese delegation —  headed by Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Kong Xuan You — left for home today after attending the 11th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism.

The delegation called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara, respectively, the day before.

Likewise, the delegation took stock of the ongoing post-earthquake reconstruction in Basantapur Durbar Square. The team further visited the Minbhawan-based Civil Service Hospital built with the support from the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Ambassador for Nepal Yu Hong and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saw off the Chinese delegation at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The 11th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism was held on Tuesday.
