Chintan destroys copies of own book

KATHMANDU: Following pressure from various Magar organisations including Nepal Magar Students Association (NMSA), advocate Gopal Siwakoti ‘Chintan’ on Saturday destroyed all copies of his book and articles besides agreeing to seek written apology in public for “character assassination” of a Magar girl Urmila Pulami, a daughter of former Gorkha Army Kamal Pulami.

According to Bhoj Bahadur Budha Magar, president of NMSA, Siwakoti himself destroyed the copies of his book “Gorkha Movement: Achievements and Challenges”, which contains an article that allegedly assassins the character of Pulami.

He has signed a six-point agreement in the presence of several representatives of Magar bodies and has agreed to destroy all his articles and not to write anything that would affect Pulami’s personal life. He has also agreed to compensate Pulami for the damages done.
