CIAA fiat to end irregularities

Kathmandu, January 1:

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today directed the security agencies to constantly monitor people going in and out of the Tribhuwan International Airport.

The anti-graft constitutional body issued the directive during a meeting with the officials of the security agencies at the CIAA office.

The CIAA said the lack of computer technology, staffers not wearing uniforms, insufficient number of trolleys and misuse of the labour desk were among the many irregularities seen at the airport. The CIAA added that the TIA suffered from lack of sufficient security, irregularities in the foreign money exchange and improper checking of goods at the airport. The anti-graft body also directed the authorities to launch strategies in order to tackle problems.
