CIAA files corruption case against Pathak at Special Court

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against its former commissioner Raj Narayan Pathak at the Special Court today.

According to CIAA Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala, Pathak has been accused of receiving Rs 7.8 million in bribe for settling corruption cases sub judice in the CIAA.

In the charge sheet, CIAA has sought to recoup Rs 7.8 million from former controversial commissioner Pathak, as stated in the statement issued by the anti-graft body on Tuesday.

Earlier, Pathak had resigned from the post on February 15 after the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) threatened to impeach him.
