CIAA heat on ‘errant’ govt staffers
Kathmandu, December 23:
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today said it would take action against the government employees who did not furnish their property details.
Saying that many government employees are yet to furnish their property details to the National Vigilance Centre (NVC) despite the anti-graft body’s direction in July, the CIAA today passed a decision to investigate and take action against all those employees, who are flouting its order. “We will seek explanations from the employees who did not furnish their property details,” said Lalit Bahadur Limbu, acting Chief Commissioner, CIAA. The body had directed over 80,000 government employees to furnish their property details. “The CIAA will seek explanation within seven days from the employees — on why action should not be taken against them — as per acts,” the CIAA decision stated.
These Acts demand government employees to furnish their property details along with the details of their family members on an annual basis.
