CMPD ends 48 hr sit-in for demands
KATHMANDU: The 48-hour sit-in protest of the Civil Movement for Democracy and Peace (CMDP) which began from Thursday in front of the Constituent Assembly building concluded on Saturday at 8 am.
According to Shyam Shrestha, a cadre of the CMPD, there is a dire need to draft the new constitution in the stipulated timeframe while taking the peace to a logical end for the nation. He added that the protest was an attempt to alert the political party leaders to the needs.
Leaders of the political parties, CA members and sister organisations of different political parties also lent their support to the sit-in protest.
Earlier the CMDP had staged a 24 hour sit-in protest.
