CoAS Chhetri leaving for maiden visit to India
Kathmandu, January 28
Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri is leaving for a week-long official visit to India on Sunday. This will be his maiden foreign trip after assuming office as the chief of Nepali Army in September last year.
A Cabinet meeting yesterday endorsed CoAS General Chhetri’s visit to India from January 31 to February 6.
According to Army Spokesperson Brigadier Tara Bahadur Karki, General Chhetri will be conferred a honorary title of Indian Chief of Army, a customary practice between Nepal and India of honoring each-other’s army chiefs.
Karki said the details of his visit were being worked out and would be announced soon.
