Commissioner Jay Bahadur Chand of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) emphasized that the country would not witness progress until it eradicated corruption.
Speaking at a program organized by CIAA's Jaleshwor Office on 'corruption control and promotion of good governance' on Thursday, Commissioner Chand urged all elected representatives and civil servants to contribute to the country's prosperity by combating corruption.
The program was attended by elected representatives from 10 municipalities and five rural municipalities in Mahottari district, the chief district officer, heads of security bodies, and representatives from various civil society organizations. Chand reminded everyone that even the future generations of those involved in corruption would be affected.
During the event, Suman Lal Karna, the chief of the district coordination committee, expressed the view that the program was organized to remind public servants of their duties and responsibilities towards the country and its people.
