Committee of voluntary blood donors formed

Kathmandu, February 5:

A meeting of the voluntary blood donors recently formed a committee to solve the crisis of blood shortage in the valley.

The meeting held on January 28 at Chandol Bishalnagar, Kathmandu, decided to utilise the blood of the volunteer donors, both in and outside the valley, to supply blood during emergencies.

A nine-member ad hoc of the Nepal Voluntary Blood Donors’ Society has also been formed under the leadership of Dibya Mani Dixit.

Agam Singh Gubhaju is the co-convener of the society, while its members include Prof Chandra Raman Parajuli, Suresh Raj Bajracharya, Dharma Krishna Sikarmi, Mukti Sundar Jadhari, Radha Krishna Tandukar, Dhruba Kumar Khadgi and Prachanda Karanjit.

The meet also decided to organise regular blood donation programmes to collect blood for emergencies .
