Community schools fare better this year

HAKTAPUR: Community schools across the country fared better than last year while institutional schools have got poorer results.

According to the Office of the Controller of the Examination (OCE), the pass percentage of community schools is 33.18 this year while it was only 28 per cent last year. The pass percentage of students from institutional schools, however is 89.30 per cent this year compared to 93 per cent last year.

The OCE said that a total of 302,399 examinees had appeared from community schools but only 100,342 passed the tests, while a total of 102,939 examinees from institutional schools sat for the exams, but only 91,925 got through.

Bishnu Bahadur Dware, Controller, OCE said, “Teachers Service Commission had recruited fresh qualified teachers last year. So, the students scored well in the exams.”
