Consensus in sight: Nembang
Kathmandu, November 28:
Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang today said certain “process and procedures” are being worked out to announce republic from the Parliament.
Speaking at a function in Reporters’ Club, he said the winter session of the parliament beginning tomorrow would move ahead on the basis of consensus among political parties. He said the government has initiated talks with parties on implementing the House’s directives on initiating the process for a republic and PR poll system.
“The only remedy is unity among parties,” he said. He, however, hinted at some “differences” among the parties, but added that the parties are discussing on the process and procedures in announcing a republic from the House. “I have also accelerated discussions with all the parties’ chief whips and ministers,” Nembang said.
