Constitution within a month, Dahal tells Modi
KATHMANDU, July 17
UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Nepal will promulgate new constitution within a month and Modi responded by saying that early constitution was critical for Nepal and it should be drafted with the support of as many stakeholders as possible.
According to Dahal’s personal aide Shiva Khakurel, who is accompanying him on his week-long India tour, the Indian PM said although it was up to Nepali stakeholders to decide their constitution, India wanted it to be framed with the support of as many stakeholders as possible.
After meeting Modi at Hyderabad House this evening, Dahal met Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at Rastrapati Bhawan.
According to Khakurel, the Indian President told Dahal that no stakeholder should be excluded while taking feedback on the draft constitution.
