KATHMANDU: A controlled drug smuggling suspect, who fled from police custody on Thursday, has been arrested from his hideout in Thali, on the outskirts of Kathmandu on Saturday.

After presenting him before the Kathmandu District Court, the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Prakash Subba from Morang, was being taken back to the Bauddha-based Metropolitan Police Circle on a police vehicle on Thursday.

He, however, jumped off the vehicle at Chuchchepati and succeeded in running away.

Tamang, who was currently residing in Thali as a tenant, was arrested in possession of a cache of controlled drug from Bensigaun of Kathmandu.
