Coordination among all tiers of govt stressed

Kathmandu, December 15

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ishwor Pokharel today said the country’s administrative and financial management would be made effective as per the need of federal set-up.

Speaking at a programme organised to mark the 24th anniversary of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and inaugurate Mahanagar Festival in Basantapur today, he underscored the need of coordination among all three tiers of government for the success of federalism in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel further said that though the country adopted federalism, the government had not been able to make necessary changes in administrative and financial structures.

“The upcoming winter session of the Parliament would formulate laws required to ensure effective implementation of the constitution,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit said the government would soon bring Bancharedanda landfill site into operation for the sustainable management of waste generated in Kathmandu valley. He also said that the federal government would provide all possible support to KMC.
