Kathmandu, June 7 :

The Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, has taken at least 10 suspects into custody on different dates to identify the two masked persons who shot at Dr Hemang Dixit, principal of the Nepal Medical College, over the Dhobikhola bridge at Sinamangal on May 3.

A Deputy Superintendent of Police at the VCIB hinted that the shooters have already been identified. Declining to give details, he said they were planning to arrest some more people tonight. “We are inching closer to unravelling the case.”

The DSP said the VCIB has almost completed the investigation into the May 31 robbery at the Jorpati branch of the Nabil Bank. “Though we have yet to arrest more persons involved in the robbery, we have completed the investigation and are thinking of forwarding the case to the court,” he added.

The VCIB has nabbed four people allegedly involved in the robbery.

Two police personnel, who helped the robbers by providing them with information and arms, Kapil Sunuwar alias Ajay Rai and APF head constable Dev Raj Bhattari, have already been arrested.
