Cops seize human skull

Kathmandu, June 10

Police have arrested two persons with a human skull which they were trying to sell.

According to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Nima Tamang, 19, and Chhiring Lama, 17, of Makawanpur district were held from a house in Beshigaun of Gokarneshwor Municipality last night.

SPBishwaraj Pokharel, MPR in-charge, said the duo was trying to sell the human skull for Rs 700,000 to an unidentified person for ‘tantric rituals’.

They had dug up a grave in Sundarijal to extract the human skull, preliminary investigation shows. The two have been kept in the custody of Metropolitan Police Circle, Boudhha, for further investigation. SSP Pokharel said they had taken the issue seriously as graves were often dug up for extracting human skull for various purposes.

Pistol found

KATHMANDU: A country-made pistol and three bullets were recovered from Radiology Department of TUTeaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, on Sunday.

The hospital had sought the help of police to break open the locker, which was locked and unclaimed for a long time. There were 26 lockers for employees at the department and the hospital administration had even issued a notice asking them to label the lockers with their names.

However, no one claimed the locker where the firearm and bullets were found. Police said it had launched an investigation to find out the employee who previously used the locker.
