Covid-19 Infections in Kathmandu valley rise by 259 on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 259 cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday.

Of the newly infected, 115 are females while 144 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 221 cases of infection while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 29 and 9 cases, respectively. At present, there are 2,241 active Covid-19 cases in Kathmandu while number of the same in Lalitpur is 277 and that in Bhaktapur is 88.

As many as 482 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 in Kathmandu. Likewise,152 fatalities have been reported in Lalitpur and 111 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, the total number of people who have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 96,427. Likewise, 8,864 people have recovered in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

Today, 430 new cases of coronavirus infection surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 265,698.

Five Covid-related fatalities reported in the last 24 hours took the nationwide death-toll from the disease to1,932 .

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Taplejung, Rukum West, Bajura and Mugu are the four districts with zero live infections, as of today.
