KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 14

The CPN (UML) submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of the government and secretaries of various ministries on Wednesday.

The memo incorporates the citizens' problems and suggestions collected during the UML's 'Jhulaghat-Chuwa Bhanjyang' campaign.

The Party's Vice-Chairperson, Bishnu Poudel, and Chief Whip, Padam Giri, submitted the memo to Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, as well as the secretaries of different ministries. The UML launched the campaign from Jhulaghat of Baitadi to Chuwa Bhanjyang of Mechi, focusing on the mid-hill highway from November 30 to December 17, 2023.

The document, which integrates the citizens' problems and suggestions gathered during the campaign, was submitted to the secretaries during a program held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar.

During the occasion, UML Vice-Chair Poudel urged the government to undertake activities following a study to mitigate migration, noting the rapid migration from mid-hill areas and the conversion of arable land into barren land.

He emphasized that the government should promptly proceed with the construction of various highways, including the mid-hill, and initiate development activities in hilly regions.

Leader Poudel also requested the authorities to address the citizens' problems based on the suggestions received.

Chief Secretary Aryal assured that the suggestions provided in the memo would be significant and pledged to implement them through the concerned ministries.
