DAMAULI, OCTOBER 2

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel today said that the main opposition CPN-UML had obstructed the House of Representatives to finish off the democracy and the statute.

Speaking at a programme organised by his party in Bhanu Municipality, Tanahunm Paudel reiterated that the UML had obstructed the Parliament to finish off the constitution and democracy. He argued that lawmakers had failed to voice people's issues and plight due to the UML's obstruction. "UML is obstructing the Parliament to prove that the dissolution of the House of Representatives by former prime minister Oli was right," Poudel added.

Paudel said that the Oli-led Communist government had collapsed due to his totalitarian mindset. He accused Oli of trying to become a tyrant in the name of statute convention.

Noting that democracy and constitution were at risk, Paudel stressed the need to be united to defend the constitution and democracy. He forecast that the Nepali Congress' 14th national convention would usher in change in the country.
