Dahal's stir call for unity govt
KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today said the movement to be intensified by his party could pave way for the formation of a national unity government by toppling the present “illegitimate coalition”.
Addressing the first national convention of the recently formed United National People’s Movement, he said the front would have a strategic significance.
“Such a government will implement the demands raised by the front,” he said.
The front will intensify protests in the centre, districts and the local units across the country.
The Maoist supremo said the stir would help take the peace process to a logical conclusion, speed up the drafting of the new constitution and establish a federal republican order in the country.
Prachanda also said other like-minded political parties could be taken in the front, expressing hope that it would end the present political impasse in the nation.
