Demo to press cops to find kidnapped boy

Kathmandu, September 17 :

Residents of Koteshwor today staged a demonstration demanding the police take immediate steps to find the whereabouts of one Bibek Sharma who was kidnapped from his residence in the area on September 9.

The locals blocked traffic for about two hours that led to vehicles coming from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu, from Lalitpur to Koteshwor and vice-versa, stranded.

How ever, no untoward incident was reported during the chakkajam.

The demonstrators chanted slogans against the police laxity and demanded stern action against the guilty.

The police headquarters has formed a three-member investigation committee to find out the whereabouts of the boy. Kathmandu District Police Office and Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, are also investigating the case.

The police headquarters’ committee include Superintendents of Police Bam Bahadur Bhandari, Yogeshwor Rom Khami and Subodh Ghimire.

Valley Police has already arrested three persons — Petini Palten Lama, Wakil Ansari and Bhikhari Khan — allegedly involved in kidnapping and selling off the boy.
