Development Aid Coordination and Facilitation Committee formed at NRA

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Reconstruction Authority Consultation Council, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has formed a Development Aid Coordination and Facilitation Committee on Sunday.

The Consultation Council meeting held on October 2 had given a responsibility to the PM in this regard.

NRA Spokesperson Ram Prasad Thapaliya informed the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the Coordination Committee would have Executive Officer of the NRA as its Coordinator while the members are representatives from Indian and Chinese governments, and the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.

Similarly, the Committee will have two members from among the international development partners based in Nepal. Likewise, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry or his/her representative, President of the NGO Federation or his/her representative, President of the International NGO Federation Nepal or his/her representative as members, added Thapaliya. Secretary at NRA will be the member secretary of the committee.

The NRA Secretary will be the member secretary of the Committee. Other invited members are Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers or representative, Foreign Secretary or representative, Secretary at National Planning Commission or representative and Auditor General or his representative.

The Committee is tasked with extending coordination and facilitation to the national and international development partners and civil society on the reconstruction activities. Similarly, it would encourage the national and international development partners, civil society and private sectors for the monetary and technical assistance to the rehabilitation of the earthquake survivals and rebuilding of the damaged structures.
