Devkota’s 99th birth anniv marked

Kathmandu, November 9:

Speaker of Parliament, Subas Nembang has said all should move ahead by adopting a republican democracy and proportional electoral system that were recently approved by the special session of the parliament.

Addressing the function, organised here today by Dillibazaar Kanya Multiple Campus on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Speaker Nembang

said the country should move ahead by adopting the proposals that were approved by a majority vote of the interim parliament.

The Speaker also urged the seven political parties to move the country ahead with the objective of conducting the constituent assembly election.

On the occasion, lyricist and poet Dinesh Adhikari recited his poem on Devkota and Campus Chief Tara Bhandari spoke on campus activities.

The Nagarjun Literary Academy also organised a literary programme today to mark the 99th birth anniversary of Devkota.

Poets recited Devkota’s poems and their own after garlanding the portrait of Devkota.
