Kathmandu, October 5:
The Maharajgunj-based residence of Sri Lankan Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires AM Ranaweera Banda was burgled yesterday afternoon, while Banda and his daughter were out for shopping.
Banda said a video camera, his wedding ring, a gold chain, Rs 7,500 and a laptop was stolen his room. Gold jewelleries, including bangles, chain and earrings and I-pod were stolen from his daughter’s room.
“When we returned home at 2.00, the main door was open and my bedroom door was broken,” said Banda. “Those who have entered the house only lifted the valuable things and other imitation jewelleries were not touched.”
