Discussions continue on Appropriation Bill-2072

KATHMANDU: Discussions on Appropriation Bill-2072 of Urban Development Ministry, Energy Ministry, Information and Communications Ministry, Education Ministry and Forest and Soil Conservation have begun in today's Legislature-Parliament meeting.

Taking part in discussions, lawmaker Chandra Kanta Bhandari of the Nepali Congress said that the country should produce such human resources, who can easily get jobs even in the international markets, by improving its educational system.

Similarly, another lawmaker Kashinath Adhikari said that though the current fiscal year is announced as the budget implementation year, it does not look like while considering the spending situation of the districts.

Lawmaker Krishna Prasad Dhital complained that though the budget programme had to be brought by considering the country's situation after earthquakes, it was unveiled in the similar way of the previous fiscal years.

Likewise, Bhakta Bahadur Bishwokarma said that a large amount of budget has been allocated in education sector but was still insufficient.

Before this, lawmaker from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Bikram Pandey, proposed the budget curtail of education ministry by Rs 100.

Similarly, Agni Sapkota of the UCPN-Maoist said that the budget of the education ministry was not balanced as per the system.

He further said that while analysing the budget, it has made the education system policy-less and visionless while Dr Subodh Kumar Pokhrel stressed the need that the government media should broadcast the materials related to the reproductive health with priority.
