DoE, other govt offices padlocked

All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary, student wing of the CPN Maoist, have padlocked the offices of government officials and presidents of private and boarding schools' associations for an indefinite period, demanding implementation of past agreements and action against schools and colleges that are fleecing parents.

Sharad Rasaili, president, ANNISU-R, said that they padlocked the office of Director General of the Department of Education, Vice Chairperson of Higher Secondary Education Board and chiefs of the regional offices of HSEB and presidents of Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation, Nepal and National Private and Boarding Schools Association of Nepal.

He said that the union also padlocked the offices of District Education Officers across the country. The union has been demanding that the government revise the fee hiked by schools and waive 50 per cent fee for the month of Baisakh (mid-April to mid-May) when schools remained closed after the quake.
