Doko Dai mobile library launched

Sustainable Doko Dai Mobile Library Project (SDDMLP), implemented by Nationwide Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students (SEBS) formally launched its activities amid a function here today.
“The SDDMLP aims to provide easy access to educational materials and promote reading habits through mobile library in rural areas of the country,” said Prajesh Bikram Thapa, president of SEBS. “The project also encourages local people to implement small agro-based programmes like mushroom farming and poultry in order to make them economically sustainable,” he said. Balkrishna Vaidya, the acting principal of Budhanilkantha school, said that such programmes will encourage people of remote areas to become educated. “The library is an example of youth’s dedication in improving the educational status,” said Vaidya. Prakash Thapa, chief librarian at the American Centre, expressed commitment to provide assistance in the future as well.
