DPM Mainali urges Madhesi forces to come on board
Kathmandu, April 13
Deputy Prime Minister CP Mainali has urged the dissenting Madhes-based parties to join the high-level political mechanism formed by the government.
At an anniversary programme organised by Disha Nirdesh Club here today, DPM Mainali remarked that some of the demands put forth by the agitating Madhesi leaders were ‘mysterious’.
Also speaking at the programme, former speaker Subash Nembang said it was imperative to address the discontent of the people regarding the new constitution. He stressed the need for all political parties to come together to resolve the differences.
“All the parties should unite for effective implementation of the new constitution,” argued Nembang, underscoring the need for the Nepali Congress, the major opposition party now, to join the CPN-UML-led government.
Likewise, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC held the opinion that no political party or group would have expressed their dissent had the Constituent Assembly taken some more time to promulgate the new constitution.
