DSU announces scholarships

KATHMANDU: Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) of Bengaluru, India, has announced scholarships to 86 students of Nepal. A press statement issued by DSU on Friday said that the scholarships to Nepali students will be given in various subjects like Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Biological Science, Journalism, Mass Communication, Bachelor’s in Business Management, Computer Applications and Engineering. It said students who are eligible for the scholarship could submit applications, specifying the course that he/she is interested to study, duly enclosing his/her Grade X and XII academic scores. According to R Janardhan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of DSU, interested students can meet DSU officials on Saturday at the The Great India Education Fair at Radisson Hotel to personally get the scholarship forms and submit them to the concerned officials. The two-day education fair concludes on Saturday.

Elderly found dead

KATHMANDU: A 66-year-old man was found dead on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sanu Kaji Basnet of Sanga, Kavre. Basnet, who had been living in a makeshift shelter set up in an open ground of Balkhu after the earthquakes of April and May, was found dead. The body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for post-mortem. Police said they are investigating the cause of the death.
