Kathmandu, July 8
Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training today launched ‘Technical Education National Awakening Campaign 2018’ in a bid to promote technical education .
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said the campaign was launched with a view to promoting technical education and producing enough technical human resources needed for the country.
“Less than 10 per cent human resources in the country are from the technical field. So the campaign will focus on production of technical manpower,” Minister Pokharel said, adding, “The ministry is also working on a draft policy on improving the education system.”
Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Khagraj Baral said technical education needed to focus on providing students practical skills.
