KATHMANDU: Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel has vowed to include Yoga Education in the new education policy.

Addressing an event organised to mark the first National Yoga Day on Friday, the Education Minister said that Yoga should be included in the curriculum by viewing it technically. “Study on Yoga is needed by developing its textbooks to handover the proper knowledge on Yoga to the next generation,” he said.

Likewise, former minister Dr Modnath Prashrit said that the Education Ministry should play a lead role for the renaissance of Yoga in the country.

Secretary at the Ministry Bishwa Prakash Pandit, Secretary at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University Prof Dr Kul Prasad Koirala, chief of Yoga Mission Nepal Dr Hari Prasad Pokharel and others expressed their opinions calling for further development of Yoga and its practices in the country.
