KATHMANDU: An elderly person died today after being hit by a motorcycle yesterday at Annapurna Chok in Swayambhu of KMC-15.

The deceased has been identified as Sushil Kumar Manandhar (65) of Sanobharyang of Kathmandu.

He died today in the course of treatment at Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in the Capital, according to police.

His wife Nirmala (58), who was with him, sustained injuries in the accident and is receiving treatment at the same health facility.

The bike (Se 4 Pa 5347) had hit the elderly couple while they were walking along the road in Swayambhu.

Injured motorcyclist Arjun Saud (20) of Salyan district, currently residing in Machhapokhari of the Capital, is receiving treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Basbari.

Police said they are looking into the case.
