Ensure speedy justice: Acting CJ
KATHMANDU: Acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee on Thursday instructed Patan High Court to ensure speedy delivery of justice.
Stating that postponements of hearing by lawyers representing parties create problems for service seekers, the acting chief justice said such trend should be discouraged. He also told the high court to ensure that the commercial bench was not left without a judge. The acting chief justice also said that the court officials should not write lengthy verdicts. “There is a tendency to write lengthy verdicts,” he said.
Chief Judge of Patan High Court Prakash Dhungana said the court was giving priority to ensure speedy delivery and it was also reforming the judgment writing process. He said the court had set a target of adjudicating 70 per cent cases but had disposed of 58 per cent cases as of April end. — HNS
