Environmental journos lament felling of trees in Valley

An interaction was organised by the Nepal Environment Journalists’ group to raise question over the cutting down of trees along the streets of Kathmandu.
Member of the Environment Journalists’ group, Bhairav Risal, asked the officials to clarify the reason for felling the trees and find ways to maintain greenery in the Valley. The interaction was held under the aegis of journalists Subodh Gautam and Bhojraj Bhat. Chief of the Kathmandu Valley City Development Committee, Dr Bhaikaji Tiwari, said about 412 trees were felled after consultations with authorities. Journalist Bhatta complained about cutting of trees that did not pose threat to security of the denizens.
