Envoy Acharya presents Letters of Credence to Indian President Kovind

Kathmandu, March 13

Nilamber Acharya today presented the Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to India to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at a special ceremony organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

During a meeting following the presentation of credentials, the Indian president welcomed and congratulated Acharya as Ambassador of Nepal to India. He mentioned about age-old relationship between the two countries and the two peoples, according to a press release issued by the New Delhi-based embassy.

On the occasion, Acharya conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as well as from the people of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of the president and continued progress and prosperity of the people of India. Acharya said he would make sincere efforts to promote age-old, close and multidimensional ties subsisting between the two countries. Acharya also expressed his happiness over the achievements made by India over the years and shared that Nepal, as a close neighbour, would benefit from India’s achievements.

According to the release, he mentioned that with political stability in Nepal following the promulgation of the constitution and last year’s elections, Nepal would now focus on economic development and prosperity.
