KATHMANDU: European Union confirmed that its Commissioner Neven Mimica will take part in the international donors’ conference scheduled for June 25 in Kathmandu.

A press statement issued by the EU Delegation to Nepal confirmed that Mimica will represent the EU in the International Conference on Nepal’s Reconstruction, being organised by the government with the theme 'Towards a Resilient Nepal'.

“Commissioner Mimica is expected to express the EU's solidarity with the people of Nepal and will announce a significant contribution to support the country’s reconstruction efforts in view of the devastating earthquake,” the statement read.

The conference aims to raise financial support from international donor organisations and governments for reconstruction and resilient recovery of Nepal and its people in wake of the devastating April 25 earthquake.
