EU extends support
KATHMANDU: The European Union said it has accorded priority for Nepal’s poverty reduction by conducting more projects in Nepal for income generation.
At a programme organised in the capital on Friday, Ambassador of EU to Nepal Rensje Teerink said that EU would focus on capacity building projects for poverty reduction in Nepal’s rural areas under the programme of assistance for trade.
Saying that EU was committed to supporting Nepal’s socio-economic development, Rensje also announced technical assistance for operating the programmes.
Terming the promulgation of new statute in Nepal as a historic achievement, Rensje expressed hope that Nepal’s political leadership would resolve the existing political complexities.
