EU Film Festival from June 13

KATHMANDU: The capital-based diplomatic missions and cultural institutions of the European Union (EU) are all set to organise a five-day European Film Festival at the Nepal Army auditorium from June 13 to 17, a press release issued on Wednesday by the Delegation of the European Commission to Nepal said.

The festival, the second of its kind in Nepal, is expected to draw a large number of audiences from different sectors of the Nepalese community. The first festival was held in September last year. The release added that the movies – two from each member state represented in Nepal viz. Denmark, Finland, France, Germany and the United Kingdom would be screened on the occasion.

Aiming at building a strong tradition in the years ahead with the hope of reaching out to an ever-growing number of Nepalese audiences, the festival would feature in all ten Europeans films belonging to different origins, themes and genres.

There will be four screenings each day, starting from 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. Tickets will be available in advance from the British Council, Lainchaur; Alliance Francaise in Kathmandu; Goethe Zentrum and Skoda Showroom Thapathali. The uncollected tickets will be made available on the day of the film, from 10 am at the screening auditorium. Tickets are free of cost.
