Ex-PM Thapa on India’s stand

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Rastriya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa today said that India was not in favour of an alternative to the present government in Nepal. “India wants the continuation of the present government,” he said, talking to the reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport, upon his arrival from India on a week-long visit. "I cannot imagine the Maoist-led government," he said. Thapa also reasoned that the present government was formed as per the interim constitution and would last longer since it enjoys the majority.
