Lalitpur, April 1 Police rounded up four persons, including a superintendent of SLC exam centre in Lalitpur, while indulging in gambling in contravention of the existing laws. According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel, Chandra Bahadur Bajgain (48) and three others were caught gambling at Godavari-based Sirupati Rainbow Trout Resort last night. Bajgain was designated as SLC exam superintendent for Mahalaxmi Higher Secondary School centre, Lubhu. Police said a van, a motorcycle, seven decks of playing cards and Rs 5,8500 were confiscated from Bajgain and three others. They have been charged under the Gambing Act. Meanwhile, District Education Office, Lalitpur has dismissed Bajgain as the superintendent and replaced him with Nil Prasad Dulal for his involvement in unethical and unlawful activities. District Education Officer Dil Nath Puri said Bajgain was replaced with Dulal for acting against the dignity of the office. Similarly, Babukaji Khatri replaced Ek Bahadur Bhandari as superintendent of Mahedra Adarsha Higher Secondary School exam centre after the former fell sick and could not continue his work.
