Kathmandu, June 12 :

Anandakuti Bihar Guthi, Anandakuti Dayak Assembly and Buddha Memorial Function Committee, Swoyambhu jointly bid a farewell to Sri Lankan Ambassador Grace Ammal Ashirwarthan, here yesterday.

Ambassador Ashirwarthan said the friendly ties between Nepal and Sri Lanka had existed much before the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries because of Buddhism. She also said she had an opportunity to coo-operate for the promotion of Buddhism during her tenure in Nepal. Acharya Monk Kumar Kashyap presented a letter of appreciation to the Ambassador on the behalf of All Monk Association, Buddha Memorial Function Committee 2550, Anandakuti Bihar Guthi, Anandakuti Bihar Dayak Assembly amidst a function. Acharya Kasyap said Sri Lanka has played a significant role in publicising Buddhism.
