Federal Alliance hints joining government 'later'
KATHMANDU: The protesting Federal Alliance on Thursday said it may join the new government after some time, though it clarified that time was not ripe yet to decide so in the present context.
A meeting of the bloc held in Kathmandu today decided to take an appropriate decision later in consultation with big constituents of the new ruling alliance, Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre, according to the FA spokesperson Om Gurung.
The Alliance has further concluded that present time was not ripe yet to make a decision over the issue.
Meanwhile, the Alliance demanded that the Local Body Restructuring Commission stop its work till concerns of various political groups over contentious issues about the Constitution be addressed.
It accused the Commission of carrying out its activities with an intention to thwart implementation of federalism.
Likewise, the meeting decided to continue its ongoing protest programmes till all of its demands were met.
