Fire in factory doused

Kathmandu, January 10:

A footwear producing factory located at Tinkune in Kathmandu caught fire this evening damaging property worth about Rs 4 lakh, police said.

The chemicals caught fire in the first floor of the two-storied building and spread to all the rooms of the floor, according to eyewitnesses and the police.

Police said that materials to make footwear, some clothes and furniture were damaged in the fire. It took about one hour for fire fighters from Judda Barun Yantra, police and locals to put out the fire. The fire was brought under control at around 9 pm, locals said.
