KATHMANDU: Police on Monday said they recently seized a cache of firecrackers from Ochu Height in Mahalaxmi Municipality-15 of Lalitpur district.

On Sunday, a person who was carrying the contraband on a motorbike (Ba 38 Pa 9512) had fled the scene after seeing a police patrol police team deployed from the Imadol-based Metropolitan Police Sector, police said.

Upon suspicion, police checked the incident site to find more than 200 pieces of the fireworks.

Police said they are looking into the case and searching for the absconding motorcyclist.
