FM Koirala leaves for India

KAtHMANDU: Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala left for the 5-day trip to India on Monday morning. She is accompanied by Chiranjiwi Nepal, foreign affairs advisor and Gyan Chandra Acharya, secretary of foreign ministry.

In the visit, on the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna, Koirala will also meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister Pranav Mukharjee and president of Congress-I Sonia Gandhi. According to the foreign ministry the visit will focus on strengthening the long running harmonious ties between the two countries along with some major issues like peace process, border issue, conservation of Bagmati River and Koshi Barrage.
