Folk duet contest to conserve forests

Bhaktapur, April 23:

The Chameli Community Forest Users’ Group organised an open folk duet competition on environment and forest conservation at Muhan Pokhari, Nagarkot, today. Around six groups from Sudal, Nagarkot, Bageswori, and Chhaling VDCs among others, took part in the competition, which was expected to continue late into the evening. Inaugurating the competition, outgoing chairman of Bhaktapur DDC Surrendra Pratap Shah lauded the efforts at holding such a creative programme to promote awareness to conserve environment and forests. Chief of district monitoring team, Rajendra Lakha, said the role of community forests users’ group is important to bring about positive changes in people’s economic , social status.
