Former TU VC Madhav Sharma passes away

KATHMANDU: Former Vice-Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University TU), Prof Dr Madhav Sharma, passed away at the Kathmandu Model Hospital in the Capital city on Sunday morning. He was 75.

Suffering from pneumonia, Sharma was admitted to the hospital last week.

A renowned scholar from Dhankuta district, Sharma was also the former president of the advisory council of the Intellectual Council.

The last rites of Prof Dr Sharma were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat today itself.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Bahadur Rawal, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Eknath Dhakal, former TU VC Hira Bahadur Maharjan and others reached the Pashupati Aryaghat to pay their last tributes to late Sharma.
