Four persons held with Buddha idol, animal paw
KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in smuggling of a Buddha idol holding archaeological significance and a paw of a yet-to-be-identified wild animal.
Arjun Magar (35) from Gati-5 of Sindhupalchok district, Ram Sharan Magar (23) from Marming-1 of Sindhupalchok district, Kale Gurung (50) from Bharatpur-2 of Chitwan district and Indu Gurung (33) from Bharatpur-2 of Chitwan district were arrested from Kageshwori Manahara-11 of Kathmandu.
After receiving a tip-off, the Metropolitan Crime Division had launched a manhunt after the suspects.
Meanwhile, they have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, for further investigation and action.
